Fans’ fears over ‘fragile and emaciated’ Cheryl Cole after daring cutaway dress reveals her ribcage
Cheryl Cole has sparked fears for her health after looking ‘emaciated’ and emotionally fragile during Saturday night’s X Factor final.
The Girls Aloud singer and judge burst into tears several times as she saw her protege Alexandra Burke win the ITV show.
A source said Cheryl, 25, had been putting pressure on herself, worrying about Alexandra getting through.
And, after seeing her ribs through a cutaway Julien Macdonald dress during Saturday’s final, fans expressed their concerns on online forums.
One, called Azalea, said: ‘Cheryl looks emaciated!’
Another, Joules, wrote: ‘Her dress was beautiful but she needs to put on a little weight.’
Fan Shiri added: ‘I do not agree that Cheryl Cole looked great on Saturday night - it’s hero worship gone too far.She looked emaciated like she was about to snap at any minute. I really, really like Cheryl, but she needs to put on some weight. The cut-out sides further highlighted this fact.’
Another who goes by the pen name Ilora-Danon wrote: ‘Visible ribcage, hot? Not in my book, sorry.’
Fan Siany added: ‘She is far too skinny! I actually gasped when I saw her from the back with her dress on - she looked so tiny.’
It seems her demanding schedule had taken a toll on the singer, who has juggled her X Factor role alongside promoting Girls Aloud’s new album Out Of Control in recent months.
With her hectic workload now over for the year, Cheryl says she is busy planning Christmas for her family, including husband Ashley Cole.
Cheryl was left devastated in January after 22-year-old hairdresser Aimee Walton claimed she’d slept with Cheryl’s footballer husband Ashley Cole, 28.
After months of deliberation followed by a make-or-break holiday to Spain in June, she patched up her relationship with Ashley and now she can’t wait to spend a romantic Christmas with him.
Speaking to Closer magazine, Cheryl said: ‘I like the idea of doing something old-fashioned for Christmas and making it very romantic.
‘I’m a real Christmas person. It’s such a family time and I love getting festive. I’d like to fill stockings with romantic and thoughtful presents for Ashley!’
The star still hasn’t decided whether to spend the day at the couple’s house in Oxshott, Surrey, or in her hometown of Newcastle.
She explained:’I don’t know if I’ll be at mine or if I’ll go up north as yet.
‘The thing is, I have so many nieces and nephews to look after - so I might have to go up there!’
She added:’I've not started shopping yet and I have quite a bit of stuff to get, as you can imagine.’
Cheryl - whose year included a sell-out arena tour with Girls Aloud and landing her lucrative X Factor contract - wants her Christmas to be perfect.
She said: ‘After the year I’ve had, being so busy, it’s an important time and I want to get it right in every way.’
